Auto lathe is a machine that its cutting locus is controlled by Cams. It performs various operations such as turning, facing, drilling, tapping, knurling, cutting, with specialized tools and are applied to the workpiece to create an object with symmetry about an axis of rotation. The advantages of auto lathe are higher productivity and reliability but it takes longer time for tool setting. So it is more suitable for mass production (e.g. 10K pieces or above).
